Performance Venues
Generally, there are a total of five performance venues available at Genting Highlands. These venues fully equipped with state-of-the-art facilities are meant to host world-class shows and performances by international artistes all-year round. These huge and spacious venues are Arena of Stars, Genting International Showroom, Genting International Convention Centre, Pavilion Hall and First World Plaza.
Arena of Stars is catered to international artistes to belt out their hits and for performers to entertain the audiences. The venue can accommodate up to 6,000 people at a time thus, it is suitable for international stars to hold their concerts or shows here. With the fully roofed amphitheatre complete with lighting system, audiences can enjoy the performances by renowned stars such as Jim Brickman, Alan Tam, Andy Lau, Sir Cliff Richard and Air Supply. Therefore, Arena of Stars is the ideal venue for dazzling and mystifying performances to ensure audiences have a great time enjoying live shows by world-class stars.
Genting International Showroom is yet another glitzy venue fully equipped with state-of-the-art sound and lighting system located right opposite Genting Palace. While this showroom is slightly smaller than Arena of Stars (as it can only accommodate 1,700 people at any one time) nevertheless, the stage is suitable for adrenalin-pumping sporting events since there are flying towers and revolving stage here. The showroom is also ideal for beauty pageant contests and musical performances.
Genting International Convention Centre (GICC) is strategically located in First World Hotel to convenient its guests. The centre has always been the first choice for dazzling and spectacular events. Provided that the seats are arranged accordingly, the pillarless hall can be easily transformed to a concert auditorium. Thus, audiences can enjoy the performances or shows up-close and personal. Among some of the past events held here are Chinese New Year Reunion Dinner with Hong Kong artistes such as Adam Cheng, Jenny Tseng, Frances Yip and Susanna Kwan.
One of the more popular latest entertainment spots at the highlands is the Pavilion Hall. Ideal for dance performances and concerts, this stadium-style seating capacity can accommodate up to 2,000 people at a time while the entire Pavilion Hall can hold up to 6,000 people. Since the hall is located within First World Plaza, one can easily walk to this venue. On top of that, dining outlets and specialty stores are easily accessible from the hall.
First World Plaza houses plenty of specialty stores to offer you a better shopping experience. With more than 90 labels of food and beverage outlets as well as various interesting attractions such as Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Museum, Ohmega Forces, Show World and Genting Bowl, you can spend the whole day enjoying with a couple of friends from morning until evening and leave with a smile plastered on your face. Catered to young and old visitors alike, there is always something for everyone here.
For those who would like to catch the latest local, Chinese or Hollywood movies, head over to the Cineplex located at Times Square within First World Plaza. With two cineplexes in house that can accommodate 164 people in each Cineplex, one can catch their favourite movies here.
